Let's Get a Physical

Okay, all you women out there, let's physical. Let me re-phrase that, Let's Get a Physical.
We don't need to preach about the need for nutrition, exercise, stress reduction, emotional health and substance abuse at this time. These topics will follow in ensuing articles. What I want to share with you is information for your good health, staying physically healthy. I am talking about the annual physical examination, from your head to your
toes.
Just because you are not relating to men (for the most part, we do have bi-sexual sisters out there), doesn't mean that you needn't concern your-
periods,
self with "their" female problems. All women can experience various gynecological problems one time or another: Conditions such as painful or irregular irregular bleeding, painful periods, cervical irritation, vaginal infections, breast lumps, urinary infections, ovarian cysts, fibroids, herpes, fertility (for those wishing artificial insemination and the carrying of a pregnancy), venereal disease, just to mention a few. Then there is the general health problems that can affect lesbians as well, related to their lifestyle, ie: substance abuse, hyper tension, smoking, diet, which can affect their health as a whole. A good
physical
examination includes the following:
1. Thorough Herstory
medical
2. Ears, Eyes, Nose and Throat Exam
3. Heart and Lungs Exam 4. Lymph Glands
5. Breast Exam
6. Abdominal and Dorsal 7. Extremities
8. Blood Pressure 9. Genital Exam
and
10. Pap Smear 11. Lab tests according to women's related condition.

A One-System exam and evaluation may be warranted for some medical problem, like a vaginal infection, breast lump.
